Winter Happenings

Winter Happenings

January In January Brad and I made Raul a homemade German Chocolate Cake for his 29th birthday. I don’t mean to brag, but I I’m pretty sure he loved it!πŸ˜‹ Also in January I flew to Breck and Iris’ in West Virginia to help out with Camila for a week before Brad and his father Victor (who stayed with us in KY for about three weeks) drove to WV to visit for several days before Brad, Victor, and I drove…

Our Growing Grand Daughters

Our Growing Grand Daughters

Our grand babies are growing way too fast (like I knew they would!). Camila turned 2 month just the other day, and I am grateful for the ability to see her grow via FaceTime! I am especially excited to see her in person this week when Breck and Iris drive down from West Virginia for a little visit (stay tuned for more pictures of their visit!). Claire turned one month about a week ago and I’ve enjoyed having her close…

Our New Grand Baby Girls!

Our New Grand Baby Girls!

In January we welcomed two new baby girls into our family. Camila Rose Manwaring was born January 2nd to Breck and Iris, and Claire Adelia Garrido was born January 23rd to Aubrey and Raul! It’s so wonderful having these two cousins come into the world healthy and strong, and so close together in age! Hopefully they will become best of friends! Time with Family

Time with Family

I sure loved having all my girls home for Christmas, I just wished we would have had a little more time together where everyone was well, and the weather was better. Maybe we’ll just have to start planning regular girl’s get-togethers! I also appreciate Brittney and Sean flying here for the holidays! It was so nice spending time with them, even though they were battling colds. Sean felt under-the-weather most of the time, and Sean and Brittney had to take…

New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve

We finally got together one more time with the Holts, on New Year’s Eve, before all of our kids left to their various homes across the U.S. Finley enjoyed playing with the Holt’s cats, and Mason’s fun toys under the tree! We loved eating Rex’s traditional New Year’s Eve queso dip and chips, and my peach cobbler and Blue Bell ice cream. Brittney and Wesley attempted to get Finley and Mason together, but they weren’t having any of it! At…

Ark Encounter Lights

Ark Encounter Lights

We have an exact replica of Noah’s Ark in Williamstown, Kentucky, about 30 miles from where we live. The great thing about Christmas-time is we can see the Christmas lights for free, except for parking. One evening, between Christmas and New Year’s, we took Brittney, Sean, Finn, and Aubrey, (Merinda and Raul were still feeling under-the-weather) to experience the Ark Encounter lights (not quite Temple Square or Thanksgiving Point in Utah, but probably the closest thing to it in KY)….

Christmas Day

Christmas Day

It was great having most of the kids home for Christmas this year, unfortunately Breck and Iris were unable to come because it was too close to Iris’ due date, but we are grateful for the time we were able to spend with Breck and Iris when they came for Thanksgiving! Christmas morning was just like the good-old-days, the stuffed stockings were placed around the living room (since Santa Clause was so generous this year we had to use our…

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

We had a busy Christmas Eve day, mainly because it was Sunday, and our Sundays are always crazy. So our traditional candle-light Christmas Eve dinner was actually lunch instead. Even though we didn’t eat our meal under the glow of candle-light, the food was still good, actually, it was better than good… We decided to changed the menu up a bit this year. Instead of our traditional ham and company potatoes, Brad made mouth-watering brisket he cooked on the Traeger,…
