Indianapolis, Indiana

Indianapolis, Indiana

For Fall Break Merinda and I went with Brad to Indianapolis, Indiana. He had a four day convention to attend for work.  So Merinda and I tagged along and made our own fun…  Taking selfies, of course.  Catching the views of downtown Indianapolis outside our window during the daytime…        And at night! Exploring the sites of downtown: the cool looking JW Marriott Hotel. Museums which we did not have time to go into (or were too cheap to…

Mission Callings

Mission Callings

I never thought I would have two of my children leave for missions on exactly the same day – Dec 2, 2015. Even though I would like to keep them safe and close to me forever, I am thankful for the good kids they are, and for the choice they both made to serve missions! Aubrey’s mission picture.   Breck’s mission picture.    Breck opening his mission call (Brittney is watching via Facetime on Brad’s phone).  I love Merinda’s reaction….

Air Force Half Marathon

Air Force Half Marathon

Brad and I ran the Air Force half marathon again this year in Dayton, Ohio.   We always enjoy picking up our bibs, t-shirts, and goody bag, and finding deals at the event’s expo!   The other high-light is staying with the Thurnhorst’s, and enjoying dinner with them and evening out on the town.  And of course eating our favorite dessert from 12 Degree’s Italian Ice. The morning of the race is also something I really enjoy. There is…

Aubrey’s Birthday

Aubrey’s Birthday

Merinda saw on You-tube how to make a Pizza cake…  the perfect birthday dinner for Aubrey!      It was a lot of work, but Aubrey was happy, and that’s all that mattered!  We still made Aubrey a real cake too – confetti vanilla, which was her choice.    Sadly…  Brittney missed Aubrey’s birthday because she went back to school πŸ™  But she made Aubrey this beautiful birthday card before she left. Other birthday cards from family and grandparents. Homemade card…

Merinda’s Birthday

Merinda’s Birthday

I can hardly believe that my youngest turned 14 years-old this year. Modeling a scarf from her friend Jade.  Merinda wanted a strawberry cake with home-made cream cheese frosting.    Brittney lighting her candles,   and Merinda doing a really bad job of pretending to blow them out.   The rest of us enjoying the fruits of Merinda’s birthday.   On her birthday, the girls and I picked up Merinda from school, and took her out to lunch at the restaurant of her choosing….

School Days

School Days

Merinda’s first day of school as a big Ninth-Grader.  The start of school means the start of Football, which around here means… Marching Band!  The team hardly making it out of the blow-up helmet before it collapses on them (pretty funny).    The band kids taking up a big chunk of the seats in the stands.   The band performing their half-time show.  I asked Merinda if there was a band member missing that night. She said that the girl behind her…

Detroit Michigan

Detroit Michigan

I always enjoy going to Detroit with Brad and even though I have been there many times, it was fun taking some pictures this time around. It always amazes me how close Detroit is to Canada. Right across this bridge is Winsor, Canada. We almost ran out of gas one day and ended up somewhere downtown. If I hadn’t been so nervous about running out of gas “in the hood” I would of taken more pictures because this street had building after…
