Little Mermaid

Little Mermaid

The High School Musical this year was Little Mermaid. It was a little sad not watching Breck since he has performed in the musicals for the past four years.  But we still knew most of the cast, and enjoyed watching all of them perform.                        Merinda getting in the spirit of things before the show…       and cracking herself up!

Time Out For Women

Time Out For Women

I had a great time at Time Out For Women in Covington, Kentucky.   I rode and stayed in the same hotel room with two of my best buddies Veronica and Christina. I know I sound like a broken record but the weather was perfect,     and the Covington Waterfront was pretty awesome with views of Downtown Cincinnati.  Veronica took pictures of me and Christina taking pictures of the city.    Mother daughter bonding.  Veronica and I modeling the view,…

Spring Break

Spring Break

For Spring Break this year we rented a cabin at Cumberland State Park, Kentucky. We had a wonderful four day, three night stay with the Holts. Austin turned 14 the first day we were there so he picked Ruby Tuesday’s for dinner. He was a good sport as we sang happy birthday,       and “helped” him eat his birthday cookies and cream pie.  We did give him a birthday card, but Veronica had to help him decipher the handwriting…

April Happenings

April Happenings

Brittney’s internship with Parker O-ring division in Lexington, Ky ended one day before she flew back to BYU-I for her last Semester.  She learned a lot about o-rings which is evident in these o-ring comics she created.  But she also learned computer and internet skills,  important job skills that will be advantageous to her chosen communication’s profession,  and what it’s like to work for a large company with bright professionals (who were so kind and helpful). Brittney’s internship with Parker…

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday

I love Easter Sunday – going to church, eating Easter dinner together (grilled Salmon & spinach strawberry quinoa salad), and contemplating Christ’s Atonement and all of my many blessings. This Easter was especially special because of the perfect weather.  The blossoms were so beautiful in full bloom.  It was the perfect day to take a few pictures outside, under the blooming trees, in our floral Easter dresses.   Even Brad wore his floral Easter tie.   I tried to take some…

March Happenings

March Happenings

Daddy Daughter Colonoscopy’s!  Brad looking a little hesitant, but Brittney an old pro! Brittney and Brad getting Colonoscopy’s the same day, back to back.      Brittney and I sporting our St. Patrick’s green.  Merinda learning how to sew a winter hat.  It was a little small, but not too shabby for her first time using a sewing machine. Brittney got a taste of how the other half lives during an interview at Proctor and Gamble, in downtown Cincinnati.

Natural Bridge State Park, Kentucky

Natural Bridge State Park, Kentucky

March was also kind and gave us some very pleasant days,  so we took a co-worker of Brads from Germany, Wolfgang, hiking up Natural Bridge. We’ve not been to Natural Bridge in years so it was nice to go on the little hike again.   And very interesting to talk with Wolfgang about life in Germany with all the refugees.   Where Brad got stuck, years ago, with baby Merinda in a backpack carrier.  Our eyes needed some time to adjust to…

Winter in Kentucky

Winter in Kentucky

Typically I don’t like winters in Kentucky…  because they are grey, cold, and depressing.  But this winter wasn’t so bad with new healthy gluten-free meals to create,   and doing fun things with friends,      and family.  The snow didn’t stay around too long,  once we shoveled it.  And even the storm clouds  reflected the most vivid colors,  creating amazing sunsets!  These pictures were all taken from my back deck (with no filter).
