Christmas in Costa Rica Part VI

Day Twelve: Rainmaker Rainforest Conservation Project Another exertion I wanted to go on while in Costa Rica, was a rainforest canopy bridge tour. So we booked a tour through the Rainmaker Conservation Project, which is a privately owned Rainforest Reserve that spans over 1,530 Acers of 90% virgin rainforest. It’s biodiversity covers 70% of all the flora and fauna species found in Costa Rica. Above is a picture of Rainmaker’s gathering place, which also included restrooms and a small restaurant….

Quepos, Costa Rica Day Ten: The next day we took all the kids with us to explore downtown Quepos. This beautiful Catholic Church really stood out when compared to it’s surroundings. We walked along the beach’s boardwalk once again, and even ventured to some sketchier parts of town. Christmas Day Day Nine: I wasn’t sure how it would be spending Christmas Day in Costa Rica, but it was everything I had hoped it would be…and so much more!!! Tamarindo Beach Day Five:  The next day we went to Tamarindo Beach. I really wanted to go there because I read so many great things about the beach, the food, shopping, and night life. So Breck went across the street to talk with our neighbors (who lived in the shack) and asked them what taxi they would recommend. We had called different taxi services to see how much it would cost us to get a ride to Tamarindo which was…

Borinquen Mountain Resort Day Four:  Horseback Riding  The next day was our big exertion to Borinquen Mountain Resort & Spa. After a two and a half hour drive from Potrero (the last hour the road was a steep, winding dirt road–it was all I could do to not toss my cookies), we arrived at Borinquen Resort which was located at the foothills of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. The volcano is still active, and last erupted in 1995.  …

Christmas in Costa Rica Part I

Christmas in Costa Rica Two years ago when both Aubrey and Breck left for their Missions on the same day, just before Christmas, I vowed that our entire family would spend Christmas 2017 together, in some Spanish speaking, tropical location. So here we are, on the plane and ready to fly to Costa Rica.   I say “we” loosely since Brittney and Aubrey did not make the flight (we were all supposed to be on the same flight to Costa…
