April Happenings

Brad having so much fun talking to our friend’s new baby.   ( I think he’s ready to be a grandpa!)    Our Ward’s youth all grown up and going to Mormon Prom.      Brittney having fun dating (finally).    Easter dinner at the Holt with the Allens.    Sporting our cool Red Bud Bike Ride shirts even though we didn’t actually participate in the ride  (due to thunder storms and flash flooding). But we still had a nice…

Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee

Brittney was asked last minuet by her company, to go to a marketing convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Of course I just had to go and meet her there since I live only four hours away! We stayed at the Holiday Inn in West End Downtown, Nashville, near the Vanderbilt University campus.    Every day I would walk four miles to and from music city downtown, to meet Brittney for lunch. These are some of the sites I saw along the way…

Little Miami Bike Trail

Little Miami Bike Trail

The weather was finally good enough for Brad and I to take our bikes to Morrow, Ohio, and ride part of the Little Miami Bike Trail.  And it really was the perfect day!  Everything along the Little Miami River was beginning to bloom.             Newly planted trees along the trail.   Really cool old abandoned factory.   My usual view, way behind Brad!   Midway through our 28 mile ride we stopped at the quaint…

Honeymoon & Caladesi Island State Parks We would have liked to spend more time at Honeymoon Island State Park but since it was the coolest day of the week, and our last day in Florida, we decided to take a boat from Honeymoon Island to Caladesi Island since we heard it was the most secluded beach, and was actually a nature reserve that included a nature hike around the island.   Honeymoon Island State Park   On the Ferry boat…

Tampa Premium Outlets & Westfield Citrus Park  We decided to give Brittney and Brad’s feet a break from the sun so we went shopping at the Tampa Premium Outlets and Westfield Citrus Park Mall (where we also saw “Beauty and the Beast”), got haircuts (Merinda and Brittney), high-lighted each other’s hair, and got mani-pedi’s.   Relaxing in our massage chairs while soaking our feet.    Brittney’s poor feet getting some gentle TLC. Merinda loving her manicure,   and her manicurist!  …

Treasure Island Beach  View of impressive Don CeSar Hotel at St. Pete Beach.  For our next beach day we decided to explore Treasure Island Beach since we heard it was more rustic, less crowded, and a great beach for collecting shells. It too was very family friendly.  Unfortunately, the day we were there the wind was crazy!     We decided it would be more pleasant if we rented a cabana for the day to get out of the sun and…

Lutz, Florida  We had a wonderful Spring Break in Tampa, Florida. It was especially great because Brittney was able to fly out and meet us there!  Our first day in Florida was like Christmas all over again. Since Brittney was unable to fly home for Christmas, she brought Christmas gifts for all of us. I got an herb shelf and gorgeous sweater.  Brad got a tie and some of his favorite candy.  Merinda got make-up,  which was the best gift…
