Alabama

Alabama

Right after returning home from Florida, I had the opportunity to go down south with Brad on business. He dropped me off in Florence, Alabama so I could visit my dear friend Bea (who used to live in Georgetown, KY), while he drove onto Jackson, Mississippi for meetings.   During my brief two-day stay, I helped Bea finish unpacking, organize and clean all the rooms in her little house, and hang curtains (for an 86 year old, Bea knocked it out…

Andrea Bocelli

Andrea Bocelli

While in Clearwater, Brad and I watched Andrea Bocelli perform in concert at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.  The concert was on February 13th, and was the best Valentine’s gift Brad has ever given me!  I have always loved Bocelli’s amazing tenor voice, and I did not want to pass up the opportunity to hear him live in concert.   I was tiny bit nervous that his voice would not be everything I had hoped, because live performances are so…

Clearwater Florida

Clearwater Florida

Let’s just say that Winter is not my favorite season, so recently Brad has made it point to get me out of KY at least one time during the Winter, and it’s been proven to be very therapeutic!  Our destination of choice would first be Costa Rica, but in terms of convenience, we find that Florida is the next best place to go in the middle of Winter! We’ve been to many places in Florida and have enjoyed them all,…

Ax Throwing

Ax Throwing

Since Brad, Rex, and Mark’s birthdays are all a month apart, Brad likes to plan a birthday party for all the guys (and us wives) every year. Instead of just going out to eat, this year he wanted to do something different, something we’ve never done before. So he told everyone to wear comfortable shoes, and then surprised us all with an evening of ax throwing at Battle Axes in Lexington!  The venue was in an old part of Lexington…

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Georgetown, Kentucky As if the Holts hadn’t already done enough, they invited us over for New Year’s Eve! It was nice that Wesley could come home for Christmas, well at least spend New Year’s at home. The Holts spent Christmas with Veronica’s family in Texas, which is even more reason to thank Rex and Veronica for taking time out to photograph Breck and Iris! Since we consider the Holts family, we try to spend as many holidays with them as possible….

Breck & Iris Get Engaged!

Breck & Iris Get Engaged!

During Christmas break Iris came and stayed with us for a week before flying back with Breck to Utah and BYU-I. We all had a great time with Iris, and it was very nice to get to know her a little better. For a Christmas gift for Iris, Brittney and I put together a “Breck survival kit” full of all the essentials for making it through life with Breck.  Even though we know the two were “mint” to be together….

Dr. Pimple Popper

Dr. Pimple Popper

I’ll give the prize of the most creative gift to Aubrey, who gave Brad the Dr. Pimple Popper game.  Even though he won’t admit it, Brad has a little obsession with the Dr. Pimple Popper TV show, so naturally the game would be a perfect gift.  Breck and Brad assembling Pimple Pete’s head.  It’s not very often guys read instructions, but apparently Brad wanted to make sure he played the game correctly.  The object of the game was to pull…

Traditional Christmas Eve candlelight dinner.  Watching Overboard Christmas Eve – Brad thought the kids would enjoy the re-make because it has so much Spanish in it. December Happenings

December Happenings

I never quite know just how crazy my Decembers will be, but with only one child still at home, and Brad traveling, I was able to find time to practice and perform Handel’s Messiah with our Church’s bi-stake choir. We also had a full high school orchestra, a professional chamber orchestra, and amazing soloists from the Lexington community. In a word, it was a joy! Merinda’s Christmas choir concert at the Singletary Center of Arts in Lexington. They always put…
