All About Merinda

The first two weeks of September were very eventful for Merinda: she got a hair-makeover, celebrated her 20th birthday with co-worker/friends from Chik-fil-A and had a girls-day-out with Aubrey and me, said goodbye to her CFA friends, and started another semester at BYU-I, only this time she had the privilege of getting settled in with the help of her Manwaring aunts, uncles, and cousins (of which six will also be attending BYU-I).

Brittney and Sean went on a motorcycle trip to Southern Utah where they ate amazing food, drove through Capital Reef State Park, took a Jeep ride up Hell’s Revenge, explored Canyonlands and Dead Horse Pointe, and took the scenic route back home again (I really am jealous of these two!).

Brad and I had an amazing time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as we crossed the famous Mackinac suspension bridge to Sault Ste. Marie, where we watched massive freighters pass through the Soo Locks from Lake Huron to Lake Superior (and vice versa). We also visited the Upper & Lower Tahquamenon Falls, explored Whitefish Point Lighthouse & Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum (with exhibit of the famous Edmund Fitzgerald), stayed at the Iroquois Hotel on Mackinac Island, and hiked the Sleeping Bear…
