Quick Trip to WV
This past weekend, Brad and I made a quick trip to West Virginia to visit Breck, Iris, Camila, and Mancha. It had only been a couple of weeks since the kids had visited us in Kentucky. Raul’s Fam, the Holts, and Hoggy’s
The evening before Raul’s family flew back to Chile, we had one last get-together at our favorite place… Hoggy’s Ice Cream! Our friend’s Rex and Veronica were finally back in town so we invited them as well. Rex and Veronica were excited to meet Raul’s family, especially since they have heard so much about them not only from Raul, but from Aubrey and Molly when they served in Chile as missionaries. 4th of July
It was supposed to rain all day on the 4th of July this year (no different from any other 4th in Kentucky) so they canceled our subdivision’s BBQ, games, and fireworks, due to weather. Our plan “B” was to attend our town’s parade and fireworks, weather permitting. Since it wasn’t an all-day rainout, we were able to carry out our plan B. Claire’s Blessing Day
On the Sunday Claire was blessed, we invited everyone over for lunch right after church, since Breck and Iris had at least an eight-hour drive home. Cave Run Lake
While the kids were visiting we took the babies to Cave Run Lake. It was Camila’s very first time swimming and she had a good time splashing around in the water, but she had just as much fun playing with her feet on the picnic blanket, under the shade of a big tree. Happy Birthday Breck!
Breck and Iris came to visit just over a week ago for Claire’s baby blessing. We appreciate them taking time out of their very busy schedule to drive such a long distance with a baby and dog. It was a joy celebrating Breck’s 27th birthday on his actual birthday this year! I attempted to make one of his favorite meals, Chicken Parmesan, for dinner. It turned out okay.
