Idaho/Utah Trip VI (Saint George, Utah)

Idaho/Utah Trip VI (Saint George, Utah)

The day after Christmas we drove down to Saint George to stay with Roger & Leanne Pugh (and son Ryan) in their condo for a few days. I was very excited because I used to go to Saint George all the time as a kid but hadn’t been in over 30 years. It was so nostalgic for me to explore and climb all over those red rocks once again, and I am so grateful to Roger & Leanne for letting us stay with them and experience the beauty of Southern Utah! One of the places Roger really wanted us to see was Yant Flats, so we spent most of a day hiking all over the area, and it did not disappoint. We also explored Snow Canyon which was as equally breathtaking!

Yant Flats

The difficult part was just keeping up with Roger…
But I just wanted to see the master photographer at work!

I then focused on taking pictures of my muse Brad, and some of Leanne and Ryan…

Leanne is a pretty darn good photographer herself, she took these pics of Brad and I…

More pictures of the amazing scenery …

Snow Canyon

Roger’s beautiful pictures of Yant Flats & Snow Canyon…

We even did some hiking at Dixie Rock in Saint George…

In between hikes we swam in the heated pool & soaked in the hot tub, played card games, ate Sushi, Mexican, pastries (Farmstead Bakery), and Leanne’s awesome cooking! And one evening Roger took us for a wild ride in his truck (where Merinda feared for her life) to the ridge above their condo to watch the sunset…

We also visited the Saint George Visitor center and Temple (where my parents were sealed many years ago) which was unfortunately under construction, and then drove past Brigham Young’s summer home…

And last but not least, Brad caught up with the Gulbransons, good friends of his family when they lived in Vanderhoof, Canada, who now own an entire block in downtown Saint George!

It was the perfect ending to a perfect Christmas holiday trip to Idaho and Utah!
