A definite highlight of our trip was visiting Iris family!

At Iris' dad's house, his girlfriend showed us how to make pupusa's! She said that Rex was a fast learner!

Rex enjoying the fuits of his labors!

In addition to the pupusa's, we had carne asada, homemade chorizo sausage, fried-boiled rice, the best pico ever, and chilled cantaloupe juice! It was truly a feast, straight from El Salvador (where Iris was born and where her family is from)!

Camila playing ball with her Abuelo!

It was so nice to just chill and visit after dinner! Good food, good friends, good life!!

We also enjoyed visiting with Iris' mom and stepdad!

The highlight at their house was Iris' mom's new parakeet, which would fly around the living room and perch on people's hands...

And then she would call it down...

and feed it with a spoon (I guess technically it was still a baby)! It's always a good time with Iris' family, we sure love them!

Since we consider Rex and Veronica family, I'm adding our Bolivian dinner with this post as well!

While in Virginia, Veronica really wanted to eat at an authentic Bolivian (where she's from) meal, so we did! Veronica's favorite Bolivian food is Saltenas, so we found a restaurant that specialized in Saltenas, and they did not disappoint! The beef and chicken Saltenas (pictured above) were definitely the best things on the menu!

But everything we tasted was delicious! Like this cornbread cooked in a corn-husk...

Brad's meal,

My meal which was called de pollo o res,

Breck and Iris loaded platter,

And Rex and Veronica's meat and boiled potatoes! Another true feast, or this time from Bolivia!

I'm also adding a pic of the AirB&B (that Brad and I have stayed in before when other people have visited) Rex & Veronica and Brad and I stayed in because it really is a picturesque place located in the middle of a peaceful farm!

Case-in-point: this amazing view of the sunset right out the front door!! Another beautiful sunset, and another wonderful visit to WV, with the bests hosts ever, Breck & Iris!!!
