Claire had a great Halloween, and is finally old enough to understand the concept of trick-or-treat! She also did some fun Halloween baking with Mom before the big day…

Making mini Halloween pizzas and calzonesEating the cheese while putting it on the pizzas is the best part! The final product—I think they turned out really cute, plus they were delicious! Claire was still more interested in eating cheese than pizza! On a different day (one baking event a day with a two-year-old is plenty) we made ghost sugar cookies.Claire spreading out the flour, rolling her dough, and then Mimi helped with the cutting and cooking but the final result turned out better than I expected!I think Claire had more fun making the cookies than eating them (I should have offered her some cheese to go with the cookies).Claire was the perfect little Boo from Monster's Inc.Raul was Mike Wazowski and Aubrey was Sulley.Aubrey and I took Claire trick-or-treating downtown Georgetown where all the businesses pass out candy to little kids who aren't school-age yet. Here Claire has her game-face on, ready to get some serious candy! It was so fun because all of the workers handing out candy were also dressed up. Sometimes Claire didn't know what to think about some of the costumes. She got the hang of things and was now prepped for the real-deal neighborhood trick-or-treating!Aubrey, Raul, Merinda and I all took Claire trick-or-treating in her neighborhood! At first she just wanted to fill her bucket with leaves until she discovered that the candy was so much better!Claire would go up to the people passing out candy and say “hi” and they just though she was the cutest thing ever! She also decided that she only wanted Merinda to take her from house to house. Some of the homes were quite creepy, and other completely over the top…Many of the homes just left candy on the doorstep (like we did) so that they could go out trick-or treating with their kids or grandkids. I loved seeing all the parents, grandparents, and friends walking the streets and trick-or-treating together. Everyone dressed up, not just the kids, and everyone was visiting and just having a good time. It really reminded me of “days gone by”!When we arrived Claire dumped out her candy, which was mixed with quite a few leaves!Still attached to Merinda, Claire's parents let her pick out a couple pieces of candy to eat that night!Post-Halloween nirvana!

In Utah, trick-or-treating was definitely a family affair for Brittney's family who were all decked-out in Emperors New Groove—Sean as Kronk, Brittney as Yzma, and the boys dressed as Misty the Llama and Emperor Kuzco.Sean's sister Christy, also joined in the fun!Super cute Finley and super cute August (I know I'm a little biased!)Gus living his best life!!
