The courtyard in our Charleston Embassy Suites hotel, which is on the National Register of Historic places, and was the original 19th century Citadel. I spent a long weekend in Charleston, South Carolina, with Brad while he attended work meetings. Since Charleston had always been on my travel list, I took the opportunity to explore the city on my own during the day, and then we spent the weekend discovering it together. Some of the highlights included the Charleston City Market, Rainbow Row, The Battery with its scenic waterfront and historic homes, the Pineapple Fountain, the magnificent Angel Oak Tree, and the Folly Beach Pier.The exterior of our hotel
The things I liked most about Historic Charleston were the beautiful churches, homes, parks (with the most amazing trees) and waterfront!
